Laminate Flooring

Laminate flooring is based on a thin composite layer built up from several layers of impregnated paper to form the surface layer.

The top layer is transparent and is specially treated to achieve high wear resistance

(1). Underneath is a decorative layer that gives the flooring its wood-grain pattern

(2). A moisture resistant interlocked high-density fiberboard (HDF) core that maintains the structure of each plank

(3). A tongue and groove layer

(4), and a bottom layer has a stiff paper-based material or a laminate (5).

The differences between manufacturers and their various products is down to the number of layers, but typically the thickness of this type of flooring is between 7 - 8mm thick.

Laminate flooring was designed to stand up to the rigors and demands of a busy family household and when compared to other types of flooring solutions easily outperforms in almost every category. Spills and messes are easily cleaned with a little soap and water thanks to the hard moisture and wear resistant surface coating.

No residual stain or mess will remain and your laminate floors will continue to look brand new. No more run down and tired looking floors!
